St Andrews Church provides a stunning setting for many of the Festival events. Steeped in history, with Roman masonary contained in the church fabric it provides the perfect atmosphere to enjoy our classical performances.
Special Information
For 2011, the majority of the seating is the same price. However, for OperaUpClose & the Northern Sinfonia, the seats in the central aisle and Tower are Premium seats. Standard seats are in the side aisles. Due to the nature of church architecture, there are a few seats with partial or restricted view which we sell only if we are selling out. We will endeavour to inform you at the time of booking if these are the only seats available.
Directions
Aldborough is a particularly pretty village, within walking distance of Boroughbridge (3⁄4 mile SE of Boroughbridge) on a minor road off B6265 and within 1 mile of junction of A1 and A6055. From Leeds travel via the A58 to Wetherby and thereafter take the A1 northbound to junction 48. It is about a 50 minute drive from Leeds city centre. Newcastle is about a one hour drive away and Manchester about one hour, thirty minutes.
Built on the foundations of a major Roman city, this historic village plays host to many of the Aldborough Festival events.
Car Parking
Car parking for Aldborough Church is about 100 yards from the entrance to the church. Special arrangements apply to the last night finale in the grounds of Aldborough Manor.
