Miranda Francis (coloratura soprano) was born in Cape Town, studied and graduated at the University of the Western Cape. She was a school Music teacher for 12 years and led many choirs in her home country.
Miranda was privileged to sing at a banquet in honour of Nelson Mandela. She toured Europe as a soloist with the SA Libertas choir in 1995, singing in Paris, Brussels, Amsterdam, Bonn, Heidelberg, Munich, Salzburg, The Hague... to mention but a few places.
She emigrated to England, married, and now lives in Stockton-on-Tees where she is well known as an accomplished soloist and vocal coach.
Rebecca Topping attended Chetham's School of Music in Manchester at 16 and studied with Alicja Fiderkiewicz, before gaining a scholarship to the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama in Cardiff. Here she studied with acclaimed pianist and chamber musician, Richard McMahon and during this time performed the Prokofiev Piano Concerto No. 1 in Cardiff as well as winning the Eric Hodges Memorial Prize, for the performance of a Beethoven Sonata.
