Epsilon Ensemble consists of three strings players from the Epsilon String Quartet and oboist Jinny Shaw, recently formed in Manchester, from postgraduate students at the Royal Northern College of Music and a member of the Hallé Orchestra. The name refers to one of the five stars of the Southern Cross, a constellation only visible in the skies of the Southern Hemisphere, with which two members of the quartet are very familiar: Eleanor being from New Zealand and Clare from Australia.
